The steadily increasing number of air travelers, the aging of the population, and the increasing number of air passengers with acute or chronic illnesses (due to ecological and other reasons) undoubtedly increase the number of in-flight medical events. Nowadays there are a lot of chronical diseases among people all over the world. Besides there is a risk of food poisoning. Moreover, recent situation with covid-19 can possibly increase the number of health issues. In my opinion, pilots should take into consideration all health issues and make a decision either to divert, or just to request medical assistance because passengers are our priority, we work for them.
